Do you get a king to do it? I generally assume that people who can spell are careful and exact, while those who can't, or don't, are careless and sloppy. This may be a generalization that cannot be sustained in some cases, but for now it serves me as a useful rule of thumb. (You 'rein in' a horse when you want to slow or stop it.)
