		<description>You have a point about standards not really mattering too much, but they do matter somewhat. Standards in Cal. and Texas drive the textbooks, and school districts do look at them. 

States with higher standards won&#039;t join, you&#039;re right. The bottom states will probably improve. States in the middle like Missouri? Who knows. 

If you move or know people that move, you&#039;ll appreciate a more standardized approach to standards.</description>
