<description>My Granddaughter, Breauna Blanton, attends Maysville Elementary school in Northwest Missouri. She has a Stewartsville address, lives 4 miles west of Stewartsville and yet is forced to attend Maysville Elementary, which is 17 miles northeast of Stewartsville and 21 miles from her address. She is bused from her address to school. The bus ride to and from Maysville Elementary is 50 minutes each way, thus taking 1 hour and 40 minutes out of her day just to ride the bus. Mind you, in the early fall and spring, these bus rides can get very hot. The only way for her to attend Stewartsville Elementary, would to be to pay tuition, which her family cannot afford. It is very unfortunate that the current boundary laws have her restricted her and her family from making a more logical and economical choice. I understand there is going to be a discussion in the State Legislature in December about open enrollment. If you could, please forward this information to the proper parties involved. Thank you.
