You are (almost) right on target!!  K-12 education absolutely must improve, but it can&#039;t be fixed in only the last four years.  

High school teachers generally do listen to college and university faculty because we are focused on preparing students for success at that level.  

If I only taught our state&#039;s poor standards, students may perform well on state assessments, but they would not be prepared for success in college - as is apparent in the rising rate of remediation needed.
