Tea Party Protest at the Arch
I just quickly want to do my part to spread the word about tomorrow’s protest of the nationalization of our economy. Tomorrow, aka Friday, February 27, at 11:00 a.m. down at the foot of the Arch. The e-mails I have gotten say Wharf Street on the river. I always thought it was Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd., but it is probably just two names for the same street. (Sort of like Delmar and you-know-who in the city.) If you need directions to attend, let me remind you that it is at the riverfront base of the largest monument in the United States, so if you still need directions, you should probably just not come in the first place.

Im so excited yippie. We live a 70 miles away but we will be there.

Now that’s one heck of a way to give instructions.
“If you need directions to attend, let me remind you that it is at the riverfront base of the largest monument in the United States, so if you still need directions, you should probably just not come in the first place.”
Oh, and someone do a fact check on the largest monument thing. I know it’s the tallest object in St. Louis, but other monuments are surely larger. [I'm thinking Mount Rushmore is bigger.]

Brian- The arch is the tallest monument in the world. (Unless someone built something outside of the US recently that I am unaware of.) On a semi-related note- the BP at Clayton and Skinker kept its Amaco sign because that was the worlds largest Amaco sign.
I was also surprised to see Wharf St. especially because someone linked to a Google map calling it Wharf St. I am a taxi dispatcher and use Google maps all the time and it always says Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd when I map to the Arch to estimate fares.

We did fact check it before it went up. The Eiffel Tower is the world’s tallest monument, and the Gateway Arch is America’s tallest. See everyone at 11!
